Following on from the April release of “Cry Baby”, which homed it’s first radio spin on BBC Radio 1’ ‘Future Pop’ with Mollie King, Manchester’s very own rising singer-songwriter Ellysse Mason has returned with the euphoric anthem, “Getting You Down”. As we begin to head towards the summer months, the singer-songwriter  turns up the volume in this irresistible feel-good single. Staying true to Mason’s nostalgic essence, “Getting You Down” is the perfect song for a long summer’s night out with your friends.

Further anchoring on her captivating yet candid lyricism, “Getting You Down” is a percussive summer sizzler that navigates the frustrations found within relationships. Centering the dissatisfaction found in arguments or heartbreak, Ellysse Mason provides a feel-good moment to let loose in, and in turn gain composure. Sometimes you just need to dance things off, right? Glazing her distinct vocal across the beating drums, “Getting You Down” is the big sisterly advice you needed. Set to feature on her highly anticipated EP,  ‘Wish The World Was Ending’ dropping later this year via Rainbow Wood Records, “Getting You Down” is a taste of what’s yet to arrive from the storyteller.

Speaking on the meaning behind the track, Ellysee Mason explained, “Getting You Down is my favourite song on the EP. It’s the voice that talks you down and helps keep your composure. My listeners know that I am a connoisseur of the bitter-sweet, so in classic Ellysse Mason fashion, the lyrical frustration is dressed up as a feel-good anthem. I love the vibe we’ve caught with this one, but do give it a proper listen to find the bitter in the sweet.”

Born and raised in the Northern heart of Manchester, Ellysee Mason’s sound encapsulates both the 90’s and noughties effortlessly. Anchored with crunchy guitars and production that sits comfortably within alt-pop, the songstress has written songs for artists including Matt Wills, Rosa, Phoebe Hall, Ines Rae, and more, further emphasising her masterful penmanship. Since her debut release back in 2018, Ellysee Mason has gained millions of streams throughout her unrivalled catalogue.

Gathering accolades  from Wonderland, The Line of Best Fit, Ones To Watch, Noctis Magazine, BBC Radio 1’s ‘Future Pop’ show with Mollie King, BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Introducing Manchester, Amazing Radio, and more, alongside playlisting support from Spotify across ‘New Music Friday’, ‘New Pop UK’, ‘Morning Coffee’, and ‘Viral 50 UK’, Ellysse Mason has grown a following of over 650,000 followers across social platforms, emphasising her status as a force to be reckoned with. Having built a reputation for her captivating performances on stage, the singer-songwriter has previously supported house-hold names including Tom Walker, Sam Ryder, Patrick Droney, Fickle Friends, Billy Locket, and modernlove. on tour. As we gear up for the release of her forthcoming EP, Ellysee Mason continues to solidify her status as a promising talent.
